How We Work
Every project starts with a conversation. You don’t need to know exactly what level of design support you need before reaching out. During a complimentary discovery call, we’ll learn more about your home, your goals, and where you are in the process. From there, we’ll determine the most appropriate way for William Lyon Designs to support you. Our services are structured around four distinct levels of involvement, allowing us to meet each project with the right amount of guidance, development, and hands-on support.
The Edit Design Consultation
Focused access to an experienced design eye when you need guidance on a defined set of questions, rooms, or decisions. Consultation time can be used in your home or behind the scenes for sourcing, research, layouts, plan review, selections, and recommendations—wherever it will be most valuable to your project.
The Backdrop Materials, Fixtures & Specifications
For renovation and construction projects where the architecture may already be underway, but the materials and visible details still need a clear design point of view. We develop and specify the finishes, fixtures, lighting, hardware, cabinetry direction, and other permanent elements that establish the backdrop for the home.
The Plan Design-Only Service
A complete interior design developed for you to carry forward. We create the layouts, furnishings, finishes, lighting, window treatments, artwork, and other elements within the agreed scope, then provide a cohesive design plan for you to purchase and implement at your own pace.
The Full Story Full-Service Design
Our most comprehensive level of involvement, taking the project from initial concept through purchasing, coordination, installation, and finishing touches. We develop the design and remain involved as it comes together, managing the many details required to create a home that feels cohesive, personal, and uniquely yours.
